Micro-needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) is a novel technique in aesthetic medicine for reducing fine wrinkles, acne scars, and improving the overall appearance of the skin. The Eclipse MicroPenTM is utilized during this process to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin. Automated micro-needling also forms superficial micro-channels through which topical gels, lotions, and serums can be absorbed deeper into the dermis and used to improve skin appearance.
Fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne scars, traumatic scars, and stretch marks can all be considerably reduced and improved by micro-needling.
The MicroPen can be used on the entire body, including the face, neck, arms, hands, legs, abdomen, and back.
To begin, your skin care professional will administer topical lidocaine to numb the area and ensure a painless procedure. The pen is then gently pressed against the skin while sliding in one direction until the entire treatment area is covered with a thin layer of topical gel.
The procedure takes 30-45 minutes depending on the size of the area treated.

Patients immediately perceive a “glow” to their skin. Skin changes become visible over the course of several days and weeks. As collagen creation continues, results can improve for up to 6 months following treatment.
Some patients only need one treatment each year to receive the best outcomes. Most individuals, however, should get a series of 3-4 treatments spaced around 6-8 weeks apart.
